Real efficiency gains from RedCap

Anyone seeing measurable efficiency from Release 18 RedCap rollouts? We stood up a 3.5 GHz private site last Tuesday and, with a lightweight RIC xApp nudging PDCCH monitoring and adaptive BWP, saw about 18% UE power reduction and about 6 ms lower UL RTT to an edge cluster 12 km away — curious if these wins hold at macro scale with mixed bands.

RTT to an edge cluster 12 km away — curious if these wins hold at macro Agree — on a mixed n28/n78 macro we kept about 10–12% UE power cut and about 4 ms UL RTT by pinning RedCap to a 10 MHz BWP on 3.5 GHz via a small RIC xApp and turning off CA for those UEs. When CA stayed on or PDCCH load spiked on the anchor, the gains mostly vanished — are you enforcing a RedCap slice/DRX profile or letting it float?

Short answer from my side: I’m seeing the same pattern — one concrete thing that helped was writing down the exact handoff and timebox it to 15–20 min. Does that match what you’re running into?

Got about 14% saving combining ‘adaptive BWP’ with SRS duty-cycling; any PDCCH aggregation tweaks?
