In my experience, using a high-quality optical cleaver made a noticeable difference, especially for installations in ‘lots of vibration or movement.’ I found that investing in a Fujikura cleaver improved our splice yield significantly. One thing to watch out for, though, is the learning curve — it’s essential to practice to get the most out of those tools.
