Improving Antenna Gain in Urban Areas

I’ve been working on optimizing antenna gain in densely populated urban environments, and it’s been challenging to overcome obstacles like buildings and signal interference. Recently, I experimented with adaptive beamforming techniques that showed promising results. I’m curious to hear if anyone else has had success with similar strategies or any tools that helped in their design process.

I’ve found that placing antennas just a bit higher can make a world of difference, like trying to catch the best view at a concert. Adaptive beamforming is definitely worth the effort; I’ve had decent luck using @toolname for precise adjustments. Sometimes, it’s about playing with the positioning more than the tech.

I totally get the frustration with those obstacles in urban settings. I tried using higher frequencies paired with small cell deployments last year, and it really helped cut through some interference issues. Have you looked into using drones for antenna positioning?

I’ve had some luck with deploying antennas on rooftops and using vertical polarization to reduce interference from nearby structures. It’s a bit of work to find the right elevation, but it really pays off. @tcooper72, have you tried this approach?
